Mount Sinai

Which mountain would G-d choose to descend upon in order to give the Jews the greatest gift, His holy Torah? The tallest mountain and the widest mountain can move their hands, with the help of paper fastners, to show how tall and wide they are but G-d choose Har Sinai, the humble mountain.
We glued paper flowers to decorate Har Sinai and to give it eyes, nose and mouth. We then received big foam flowers and round foam shapes and we practiced copying the pattern that we made. We even prepared more Har Sinai game cards with original flower patterns and we will practice our colors and patterns Har Sinai style. Looking forward to celebrating the holiday of Shavuot and don't forget to insert the saphire Luchot (Tablets) which are glued on to a small popsicle stick!

Counting down 7 weeks to receive a special present from G-d

This is a matching game to remember that the Jews counted and prepared themselves for seven weeks in order to receive a special present from G-d. We cut out squares from pretty scrapbook paper to make the wrapping paper for all the present boxes. Our moms were thrilled because this is good practice for counting and recognizing numbers too.

The Mun - food from heaven

Have you ever seen a grocery store in a desert? What did the Jews eat for 40 years? G-d sent the Jews food from heaven called Mun. We had fun choosing the food stickers to show that the Mun tasted like anything a person wanted to eat! With the help of the two strings on both sides of our project we can make the dew and the Mun come down. We learnt that the two Challot that we eat on Shabbat is to remember the double portion of Mun that fell on Friday. The Challa board represents the first layer of dew and the Challa cover represents the second layer of dew. The Challa and Challa cover are attatched with velcro so that we can peek at the delicious Challa.
